Canceling an event

Cancel a scheduled event from the Program, notify customers with valid bookings, and understand what to do about refunds.

description View as Markdown

Cancel a scheduled event from the Program when needed. Where possible, reschedule the event instead: Entase supports 1-click easy reschedule, which re-validates tickets for the new date and notifies attendees about the change.

Open the event actions

  1. Select Program from the main menu.
  2. Find the scheduled event item you want to manage.
  3. Click on that item.
The available actions depend on the event's status and booking history.

Cancel the event

You must first change the event status to Close sale. The Cancel button then appears.

  1. Click Cancel.
  2. In the popup, enter the reason for cancellation.
  3. Optionally enter a message for customers.
  4. Click Send.
All customers with valid booking orders receive a cancellation notification, and all valid bookings are canceled.

Box office orders can be issued anonymously without contact details. Online orders require at least an email address and phone number. If an anonymous box office order has no email address, Entase cannot send a notification to that attendee.

Refund payments

After canceling the event, you need to refund the payments. The refunding process depends on the booking channel.

As an alternative, you can substitute customers with tickets for another event (if applicable).
