Rescheduling an event

Reschedule an event that is already on sale, notify attendees when required, and reopen sales after the change.

description View as Markdown

Reschedule an event from the Program when you need to change its date or time while it is on sale.

Open the scheduled event

  1. Select Program from the main menu.
  2. Find the scheduled event item you want to manage.
  3. Click on that item.
The available actions depend on the event's status and booking history.

Note: You can reschedule only events you created. If an event was shared with you, your co-host must reschedule it.

Open event settings

In the scheduled event settings menu, click Settings.

The Settings button appears only when the event has generated bookings or has the Open Sale status. If you see Edit instead, you can perform a full edit of the scheduled event. See Editing an event for that process.

Change the date and time

On the event settings page, locate the date and time below the event poster.

  1. Click the edit icon next to the date.
  2. Choose the new date and time from the calendar.
  3. Type a rescheduling reason and, optionally, a message for customers. Both are included in the notification to attendees.
  4. Click Change when you are ready.
It is good practice to notify attendees about event updates. For a small change, you can choose not to notify them. A small change is a start-time change of up to 15 minutes; any greater change requires attendee notification.

Reopen sales after rescheduling

After you apply the change, the event has the Rescheduling status for a few minutes while its bookings are processed. The duration depends on how many bookings need to be processed. When rescheduling finishes, the event changes to Closed Sale.

Change the status to Open Sale to open event sales again. For more information about these event statuses, see the Program status guide.
