Editing prices, ticket types, and price policy for a scheduled event

You can update prices, ticket types, and the price policy for a scheduled event from its settings.

Open the Prices settings

Select Program from the main menu.
Find the scheduled event you want to manage.
Click on that event.
Click Settings to open the settings page.
In the Settings page, find the Prices section and click in the top-right corner of the section.

If the Prices section does not have an , one of these may apply:
The event is shared and was created by your co-host. Only the co-host organization can edit the event itself. You have read-only visibility of its settings and can manage bookings.
Your team role does not have sufficient permission. Only Moderator roles and above can add or edit events.

Note: For an event that is pending or has closed sales, you may see Edit instead of Settings. Click Edit to make a full edit, including price changes. See Scheduling an event in the Program.

Events with custom ticket types

The price options list every ticket type with its capacity, price, and visibility toggle. You can change the capacity, price, and visibility of each existing ticket type.

Add a ticket type

To add one or more ticket types, click + Add new ticket type. A new ticket type appears. Set its color, name, capacity, price, and visibility.

Remove or replace a ticket type

You cannot delete an existing ticket type. To remove it from sale, turn off its visibility toggle.

The name and color of an existing ticket type are locked. You can only change its capacity, price, and visibility. If you need a different name or color, turn off visibility for the existing ticket type and add a new one.

Choose between zero capacity and hidden visibility

You can stop a ticket type from being available in two ways:

Set its capacity to zero, or to a number below its current capacity utilization.
Turn off its visibility toggle.

Turning off visibility hides the ticket type and its price entirely from checkout, so customers cannot see it. Setting capacity to zero leaves the ticket type and its price visible in checkout, but makes it unavailable.

Use the capacity approach when you offer early-bird and regular tickets. Keeping the regular ticket visible alongside the early-bird price can encourage customers to buy sooner. The same approach can be used when you later add last-minute tickets: customers can see how the price will change and may choose to buy regular tickets earlier.

Free events with custom ticket types

For free events, ticket types work the same way, except there is no price field. You can change capacity and visibility, or add new ticket types.

Events with seating charts

For an event with a seating chart, ticket types match the names and colors of your sectors. The seating chart determines the ticket type name, color, and capacity when you schedule the event in the Program.

The price options show each ticket type with its capacity and price. You can change the price for an individual ticket type. Ticket names, colors, and capacities are calculated from the seating chart and cannot be changed here. You also cannot turn off visibility or add ticket types for a seating-chart event; manage those details through the seating chart.

Tip: To stop sales for specific seats or regions after sales have started, lock the seats from the box office.

Free events with seating charts

For a free event with a seating chart, ticket types and capacity are controlled by the seating chart, so you cannot change them in the price options. Control availability by locking or unlocking individual seats and regions.

Change the price policy

Above the ticket prices, use the price policy dropdown to select a different price policy for the event or choose Without price policy.

Price policies are not available for Free or Pay What You Want (PWYW) events.

Save or discard your changes

When you have finished, click Change to save your updates. Click Close to discard them.
