Attaching a price policy to an event

Learn how to attach a price policy to a scheduled event in the Program and update it when the event can be edited.

description View as Markdown

A price policy only becomes active when it is attached to an event. Until then, it exists in your account but has no effect on ticket sales. Attach a policy while scheduling the event in the Program, or update it later when the event is eligible for editing.

Important: An unattached price policy is never applied to any sale. Always confirm that the policy appears on the scheduled event before opening sales.

The AI Assistant is available on Price Policies pages. Click at the top of the page to open a chat window; it can help manage discounts and attach price policies to events. See Discounts overview for more about how discounts work.

Attaching a policy while scheduling an event

Attach the policy in Step 3 of the Program scheduling wizard, not while creating the event itself.

  1. Start scheduling the event in the Program.
  2. Continue to Step 3: Prices.
  3. In the Paid events subsection, open the Price policy sub-section.
  4. Select the price policy you want to apply in the Price policy field.
  5. Complete the remaining steps and save the scheduled event.

The selected policy is attached when the scheduled event is saved.

Changing a policy after scheduling

You can update the price policy by reopening the scheduling form for the event.

  1. Open Program.
  2. Click the scheduled event.
  3. Open the settings menu and select Edit.
  4. In the five-step scheduling form, go to Step 3: Prices.
  5. In the Paid events subsection, open the Price policy sub-section and select the policy you want to attach or replace the current policy.
  6. Save your changes.

A full edit is available only when the event has no bookings and is not in Open Sale status. Otherwise, a partial edit may be available through Settings. See Editing an event for more about editing events.

Key reminders

  • No attachment = no effect. A price policy that is not attached to an event is completely inactive.
  • You can attach the same policy to multiple events.
  • Changing the attached policy mid-sale affects only new orders; completed transactions are not retroactively altered.

Tip: After attaching a policy, test the discount by completing checkout through both the online channel and the box office. Confirm that the policy triggers correctly in each channel.
