Creating a coupon

Learn how to create, activate, edit, and manage a coupon with a unique code, terms of use, usage limit, validity dates, and policy rules.

description View as Markdown

Coupons are promo codes that customers enter at checkout to receive a discount. Create a coupon, configure when it can be used, then add policy rules to define when its discount applies.

You can also use the AI assistant on the Coupons page. Click at the top of the page to open a chat window, where it can create and manage coupons. For more information, see Discounts overview. Review any configuration the AI assistant produces before using it.

Create a new coupon

  1. In the left navigation, go to Coupons.
  2. Click to open the new coupon form.
  3. Choose a Stacking option:
    • Without price policy
    • With price policy
  4. Enter a Unique code. The code must be unique across your organization profile. To create a random six-character code, use the button on the right side of the field.
  5. Optionally enter Terms of use. Customers see this message when they enter a valid code but their order does not match the coupon conditions.
  6. Set a Usage limit. Enter 0 for no limit, or enter the maximum number of times the coupon can be used.
  7. Optionally set a Valid from date to make the coupon available from a specific date.
  8. Optionally set a Valid until date to make the coupon available until a specific date.
  9. Click Save.

If you do not set date restrictions, the coupon is active immediately. You can still enable or disable it from the Coupons page.

Attach policy rules

After saving the coupon, open its policy rules management page:

  1. On the Coupons page, find the coupon.
  2. Click the right-hand button in the coupon row.
  3. Add or remove policy rules as needed. The process is the same as for price policies; see Policy rules explained.

Tip: Always test your coupon by entering its code at checkout through both the online channel and the box office to confirm that it triggers as expected.

Edit coupon

  1. In the left navigation, go to Coupons.
  2. Locate the coupon you want to edit.
  3. Click in its row.
  4. Update the required settings and save your changes.

Use the toggle in each coupon row to enable or disable that coupon. To delete a coupon, click the delete icon in its row.
