Sectors organize the sellable areas of your seating chart and determine the ticket price categories available when you schedule an event.
All capacity-counting elements—seats and regions—are grouped by sector name and color. Use sectors for both:
- Visually separating areas of your seating chart.
- Defining ticket price groups.

How sectors become price categories
When you schedule an event using a seating chart, each sector becomes a ticket price category. The sector's name, color, and capacity are assigned automatically. You can set the price for each sector when scheduling an event in the Program.
You may need separate sectors even where the ticket price is the same. For example, use separate sectors to make distinct seating areas clear to attendees, then give those categories the same price when scheduling the event.
Example: theater hall sectors
Suppose a theater hall has two areas: a main floor and a balcony. Start with these sectors:
- Main floor with a blue color.
- Balcony with a red color.
This creates two ticket price categories: Main floor and Balcony. Even if both categories have the same ticket price, keeping them separate lets attendees distinguish the main floor from the balcony. You can enter the same price for both categories when scheduling the event.
If you want to sell different groups of seats at different prices, add more specific sectors:
- First rows with a yellow color, containing only the first three rows of the main floor.
- Best view with a green color, containing a few middle rows of the main floor.
- Last rows with a pink color, containing the last rows of the main floor.
- Balcony front with a green color, containing the first row of the balcony.
You then have six sectors:
- Main floor
- Balcony
- First rows
- Best view
- Last rows
- Balcony front
These six sectors are also the six ticket price categories available for the event. Their names, colors, and capacities are assigned automatically.
Changing a seat's sector
When you change the sector name of selected seats to a name that already exists, those seats automatically inherit the existing sector's color.
If you change a seat's sector color, the color change applies to all seats in that sector—even when you selected only one seat.
