Short links give you a clean, shareable URL for an event. You can attach a segment to a short link to track where ticket sales come from, and use built-in quick-share buttons to post directly to popular social media platforms.
Generate a short link
There are two types of short links, depending on where you generate them:
- A link generated from the Events page points to the event information page in Entase. Visitors can see the poster and event details, as well as all scheduled dates with a button to buy tickets or register.
- A link generated from the Program page points directly to checkout for that specific event date. Visitors can immediately choose seats and ticket types, then pay.
Both link types use the identical sharing popup. Both support assigning segments, when available, and sharing directly to social media.
From the Events page
- Open the event you want to share from the Events page.
- Click
to open the sharing panel. - The short link for the event information page is displayed at the top of the panel. Click Copy to copy it to your clipboard.
From the Program page
- Go to the Program page and open the scheduled event date you want to share.
- Click Share button to open the sharing panel.
- Copy the short link shown. This URL leads visitors directly to checkout for that specific date.
When to use which link
Use the event-page link when an event runs on multiple dates, so visitors can choose the date that suits them.
Use the direct-checkout link for a single-date event, when the date is already stated in your social post, or when posting to a social network that lets you create an event listing with a Buy tickets call-to-action link.
Attach a segment for tracking
Attaching a segment to a short link lets you measure how many sales arrive through a specific channel or campaign.
- Open the event from the Events page, or open the scheduled event date from the Program page, and click
. - In the sharing panel, locate the Segment dropdown.
- Select the segment you want to associate with this link.
- The short link updates automatically to include the segment. Click Copy to copy the updated link.
Anyone who buys a ticket through that link will be attributed to the selected segment, so you can compare performance across channels in your statistics.
The segment dropdown is available only when you have added segments. Learn how to create and manage segments.
Share to social media
The sharing panel includes quick-share buttons for popular social media platforms so you can post without leaving Entase.
- Use one of the shortcut buttons to share the event on popular social media platforms.
- Use your device's native sharing options by selecting the last shortcut sharing button, the three dots.
A new tab opens with the platform's share dialog pre-filled with your short link. Complete the post and publish it there.
Tip: If you have attached a segment to the link before clicking a social share button, the segment-tagged URL is used in the post — making it easy to track traffic from each platform separately.
